Anyone who grew up in the 80's remembers the movie "The Outsiders" [directed by Francis Ford Coppola & based on the novel by S.E. Hinton] about the Curtis brothers named Darry [Patrick Swayze], Sodapop [Rob Lowe] and Ponyboy [C. Thomas Howell] trying to survive after the death of their parents, despite getting caught up in the troubles of their "Greaser" friends. When Ponyboy and his friend Johnny [Ralph Macchio] run away, Johnny recites this poem by Robert Frost: Nothing Gold Can Stay Nature's first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf's a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay. When Ponyboy asks Johnny to explain the poem, Johnny simply tells Ponyboy to "Stay gold, Ponyboy. Stay gold." We've made this classic 80s movie quote available for you to own on your own t-shirt, mug, throw pillow, mousepad, hoodie, and more. The perfect gift for any 80's movie buff!
